I spent the first valentine's day of my college career at the botanical gardens of the Huntington library in California (romantic, right?) They're the largest botanical gardens in the United States (I believe). This gave me a chance to try a different sort of photography: macro photography focused on the details of these plants and flowers. I could look at just a small, delicate element of nature, rather than a grandiose, sweeping, epic landscape.
